    New Year’s Eve Party Appetisers and Finger Foods

    If you're planning a New Year’s Eve get-together and feeling a bit stuck on the food, these party appetisers and finger foods are the easiest place to start. I’ve gathered ideas that work well for sharing, don’t need much fuss, and tend to disappear fast once they hit the table. These are the sort of bites people keep going back for while chatting, topping up drinks, and waiting for the countdown. Some are lighter, some are a bit more filling, but all of them are perfect for a relaxed night with friends and family.

    Crispy Duck Spring Rolls

    These super-light and delicious homemade Crispy Duck Spring Rollsare made with ready-cooked roast duck, cucumbers, green onions, and spring roll wrappers. 

    They are usually served as an appetiser, but they are also great as finger food/canapés for parties, or a tasty snack on the go.

    Whipped Brie Cheese

    Whipped Brie Cheese with Honey and Thyme is one of those party appetisers that looks fancy but takes almost no effort. It’s rich and creamy, a little sweet, a little salty, and always the first thing to disappear when friends come over. You can spread it on warm toast, pair it with fruit, or set it out on a grazing board beside nuts and crackers. Simple, quick, and guaranteed to impress without trying too hard.

    Pacanga Boregi are delicious fried pastry rolls made of yufka sheets filled with Kasar cheese, pastirma, tomatoes, and peppers. They are perfect as an appetiser as well as a part of a mezze platter or a breakfast/brunch item.

Assemble the wrapped Brie and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Add the egg wash just before cooking.

    Muhammara

    Muhammara, also known as Acuka in Turkish, is a delicious Middle Eastern dip made with red pepper paste, garlic, walnuts, spices, and olive oil.

    It is extremely easy to prepare and is ready in 15 minutes with minimal cleaning up!

    Chicken Liver Pate

    Smooth Chicken Liver Parfait (or Pâté) with brandy is an elegant yet fuss-free dinner party starter and can be made up to three days in advance. It is one of my favourite starters/appetisers to serve on special occasions such as Christmas or Thanksgiving, especially when I want to spoil my dinner guests.
