Baked Brie With Jam

This delicious Baked Brie With Jam is the perfect party appetizer to feed a crowd, and is a great addition to your holiday table.

Ingredients

  • 200 g round brie cheese
  • 2 tablespoon strawberry jam
  • 4 sprigs fresh rosemary 
  • 2 tablespoon walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 360°F (180°C)
  • Place the round Brie cheese on a small baking dish or oven-safe serving platter. Leave the rind on; it is safe to eat and helps hold the cheese together!
  • Make 4 slits on top of the cheese, and gently place the rosemary sprigs in.
  • Scatter the walnuts on top, place the Brie in the preheated oven, and bake for about 10-11 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and gooey, and the walnuts are lightly toasted.
  • Remove the baked Brie from the oven, and spread the jam on top of the cheese as soon as it's out of the oven.
  • Allow it to cool slightly, and then serve with toasted baguettes, sliced apples, or cheese crackers.

Notes

  • Use fresh, good-quality, creamy Brie cheese with a smooth, white rind, and without any off-putting odors.
  • The Brie's rind is edible and adds a nice texture contrast. Leaving it on also helps hold the cheese together as it bakes.
  • Experiment with different jams to find your favorite flavor combinations. Strawberry jam is a classic choice, but apricot, fig, or raspberry can be equally delicious.
  • Ensure your oven is properly preheated to 360°F (180°C) before baking.
  • Keep a close eye on the Brie while baking, as it can go from gooey to too runny if overcooked. Baking for about 10-11 minutes is usually sufficient.
